Compassion

The Daily Q #93

InQuire more: Where and how can we all help a stranger? We with warm homes, food, and shelter might aid The Compassionate Collective, an emergency refugee aid effort organized by writing rockstars Cheryl Strayed (Wild), Liz Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love), Brene Brown (Daring Greatly), Momastory founder Glennon Doyle Melton, and Rob Bell (Love Wins) – who put their collective influence to the greater good along with Together Rising and Help Refugees to generate an astonishing million dollars (given in small donations of under $25) to clothe, shelter, and save our refugee brothers and sisters in crisis.

Every tiny act of kindness matters. Today I spontaneously let a woman cut the line in front of my huge shopping cart, and she turned to me in total surprise and gratitude before telling me she was rushed and worried over a sick child at home. We both smiled at the gift we had exchanged.

“You will make your friends braver by showing up. Compassion shows up and shows itself so others might be brave to do the same.” – The Compassionate Collective
